Opinion ending here: Although the ending is MTL it's pretty understandable for the most part, I'm more happy than disappointed since it was taking 3 months to update the ending and the original translators gave up on it even though there were only a couple of chapters left. A lot of people say the ending it's self is cr*ppy but I think it's good, not the best but good, as it actually fits well to be honest, although it left me feeling bittersweet of course. My opinion on the full story: -I loved all the development of all the characters including Deculein, Kim Woojin accepting that he is neither Deculein nor Kim Woojin was an interesting development. -The relationships are one of the most satisfying things in this novel, it's like the equivalent to enemies to lovers. -Characters seem one dimensional at first but then slowly genuinely become likeable and more realistic. -Only thing I'm sort of disappointed at is that his past life as Woojin isn't mentioned much.

She is Ellie (sister of Elesol leader of Demon-bloods) with space bending abilities and a spy working under Deculein to observe him.

Tbh its not a good ending but i feel like its the best ending. First, its isnt realistic if its a perfect ending, the mc must die but he got 30 years more so thats good enough. Second, Sophien's biggest desire before meeting the MC was to die then it became to be able to stay with him but she died for him at the end. Some people might feel sad for her but think about this, she stayed with him 100+ years in mirror world when others girl have 30 -40 years only so its quite satisfying. Lastly, in early 120c the mc seemed like a positive youth but as we go on i felt like he was tired, its obvious he wanted to 'rest', however he got 30 years more and this is an OPEN ending so we can just imagine that they solved it all at the end. :P

I wouldn't say the ending is tragic, I think it ended in a good note.

It wasn’t perfect, but d*mn in its own way was it one of the best and saddest endings i’ve seen, been reading this for a long time now and i can say it was worth it. The ending rly does give off “The novels extra” vibes which makes sense, which i also liked although the extra story was meh

I didn't even read TNE's ending because I don't like the action scenes and it became too melancholic after the mc killed his crush's brother lol. I'm okay with sad ending as long as I like how the author tell the story. I'm reading the 113th chapter for The villain wants to live, and so far, I like it.

bro the villian wants to live is like the definition of melancholic almost, its just has a comedic undertone due to the misunderstandings and fact that he cant act as he wants,

Yeah, but I like how the author write The Villain Wants to Live. Hajin (TNE) could have done things differently to avoid THAT MUCH drama, so most of the drama was unnecessary and made him look stupid (it would have been acceptable if the writer added convincing backstory behind his bad choices but he didn't). But with The Villain Wants to Live, the mc doesn't have another choice (because he couldn't change Deculein's past and it's impacts on him, and he couldn't even control his behavior freely because of the character's setting), so I can focus on all of his efforts to solve the problems, which is commendable. I prefer smart, cunning and funny characters the most, but I can read all kinds of stories as long as they have the proper amount of comedy, interesting storylines, and the MCs aren't such dramatic characters who purposely turn their own lives into tragedy when they could have done things differently.

I completely agree with you and that is one of the biggest reasons i enjoy "Villian wants to live" due to the MC being stuck with clear restrictions that make the novel a fun read, on the other hand in TNE hajin only felt that as long as he tried to keep the storyline as clear as possible it would be fine, but what happened there was that he wasn't able to separate his feelings and keep viewing the world as a novel and instead he started viewing it as a real world and actually fell in love with characters, and that was the premise of TNE, and altho I liked that premise that ending was horrible.

Bruh, Hajin couldn't even keep the storyline to begin with. He knew that he never had control over the storyline because of the co-author. Even he purposely changed several things, like trying to make his crush realize her true gift earlier compared to the storyline. Hajin was too emotional, I see no logic in his bad decisions. He is the kind of character I hate the most, because he is frustating.

Exactly, thats my point and i think thats what the author wanted as well , Hajin was hella emotional but thats what i liked even tho it was frustrating. It added more life to the novel, just like "Viliian wants to live " on my 2nd reread of this novel I noticed how the MC in the beginning doesnt want deculiens character to overtake him and always says things like " this body" but thru out the novel you can see him change and literally fuse with Deculiens personality to the point he says " i am deculien "...seeing this in my 2nd read thru and not noticing it on my first frustrated me cuz its gold, it gives the novel good depth.
