I was enjoying the book until we got to the part where the mc BOUGHT TWO HUMAN SLAVES. Am I missing something? How is this getting glossed over? How is an author being literally pro slavery a good look? Is there like some plot twist to this later on? I’m actually mindblown

I do agree that the concept is quite absurd but is something that was pretty foreseen as they clearly have a hierarchy with the kings and queens. Spoiler AlertIf it makes you feel any better, the main character let’s the so called ‘slaves’ meet with their family (if they want) and they basically retain most of their freedom. They also get paid quite a large amount per month ( I think it’s in the millions) also he gave some of the subordinates progenitor bloodlines.
