Summary

Lewis Griffith loved magic ever since he was little, dreaming of the day when he would awaken and become a great 'Mage'.

However, this dream is shattered upon the discovery that he was inept, unable to form a mana core, and ever utilize magic.

Still, due to his outstanding dedication to the art, he studied magic and developed countless theories and schools. His unique concept revolutionized magic in the world, making him one of the most renowned scholars in history.

Surprisingly, he reincarnates after several centuries have passed since his death, once again thrust into the world of magic.

Will his second time be different? Or will he be the same Magic theorist he was in the past? The tale of Jared Leonard, formerly known as the Great Sage of Magic, is just beginning.

Im still confused about mana cores. Isnt gold the best? If teacher Aloe has a gold one also Maria (Chapter 400+) and he have a few Thousands of cores (many colours) and he is more powerful then them but there is mss Crimson that its 10 x more powerful then him with a special core...does that mean that the special core is transcendent?

THE MAGIC CORE GRADES ARE: Grade 1: White Grade 2: Yellow Grade 3: Blue Grade 4: Green Grade 5: Orange Grade 6: Red Grade 7: Purple Grade 8: Silver Grade 9: Gold Special Grade: Multiple Colors (Rainbow) Note: The White Core Grade is the beginning of a magic user's growth, and it usually ends at Grade 9, though those who have achieved this are rare. The Special Core Grade is one which is only found in those who possess exceptional and godlike talents, and it is said that their mana pool growth and magic potentials... are endless!

Novel is entertaining. But the mc and his crew get too op and become literally all knowing. Kind of gets boring when everything seemingly is served on a silver platter. There doesn't seem to be any effort of growth. . There is some hard sh*t going through the mc around chp 400ish. But no real hardship is there outside of that. . I basically dropped it

You think the MC is too OP? Lol, you should have waited till you reached further. Of course, after training and coming back he'll be OP and show off a little. isn't that how it works? But afterwards, when he begins to face the real enemies, that's when things will get hard. What did you expect? That he would struggle against the Demons he fought in his past life, even after spending so long training and preparing for them? Bruhh... How pathetic do you want the MC to be? I personally like Arc 4 Jared. He's confident, he has a plan, and he's prepared. And there's a nice twist at the end of the Arc, and even throughout, that makes everything not so clear-cut. So yeah. There isn't really a problem. It's just personal taste, I guess.

That is a fair point. Yea he did fight the demons before, however there is a point of being too powerful. However, I am guessing from what you wrote that after the demons, sh*t gets hard. So I guess I will pick it up later then. I added it back to my library and give it another shot later in the week. . Thanks for your comment. I guess I am a little too used to the MC getting brutalized a bit here and there, kind of like Shadow Slave.

Well shadow slave is a masterpiece, expecting the same quality of every webnovel is unrealistic. Next to sunny, every MC seem kinda bland.

Not every MC, but no arguing about Shadow Slave's quality

I'm at roughly 400 and wow, the chapters are short, but idk, the author can't make up his mind with ana, developed her for romance then sends her off to kiss someone else, feels like the author just can't decide here, but the writing is average, I wouldn't say the novel has some grand plot or anything but overall it's fun, the mc is, weird, he's a 100 year old man, okay, that's fine, and I understand being childish especially in a child's body with limited brain development, but sometimes he acts all grandpaish and it's creepy

I don't think the author was confused, though. I mean, he never really built MC for romance with anyone. Plus, if you've read till the point of MC's backstory, you'd understand his reluctance to get with anyone. Besides, they're teenagers. Anything could happen between the span of two or three years. The chapters being short is indeed an issue, but you've not even reached the end of the chapter supply like me, so you still have a lot of material to read. As for MC's personality, you don't have to like it. It's just how he is. I personally find it funny, but not everyone will like it. That's what there are many characters you can choose to like. Like Jerry, or Neron, or even Ana. In the end, it's all about Jared's growth and how he'll arrive at his final destination (if one exists), so we'll get to see his evolution as a character. And im sure you've seen a couple of changes from when he was a kid till now. And if you're at the current chapters, like me, you'll see even more change

I do get it, and as much as I find his character interesting I also see the potential for growth, however even tho I do know he's not interested in romance, but following any typical novel, ana was built up in a way to be a potential love interest, which was why I was confused, and I know the author has everything planned out already, but it's just as it seems to me, I am indeed looking forward to later on despite finding flaws in the novel, I reckon if the chapters were longer with more details, then it would up the tier by a lot, or maybe it's the way it's written, shadow slave has short chapters to but the style grabs at me, but it's still a fun read regardless

Does mc ever get talented or is he always untalented. If he does get talented in what chapter does this happen and how talented is he.

He's not talented, but he's very smart, and he has some cheats. Like Spellcraft, multiple Mana Cores, and unique applications to Spells. To be honest, he puts talented people to shame. He killed his first baddie when he was, like, just a week old. And he keeps getting stronger. He's an OP Mc, but not too Op. He has limitations, and he knows them. He does go all 'God Mode' eventually. Lol.

Hey I am currently at chapter 49 is the author doing these misconceptions about nobles all the way through the novel? Like how the children of two Duke families don't know about each other when there are only 4 in the whole country. It goes against common sense and a bit annoying but I don't care as long as it doesn't continue all the way

They all know each other, actually. I think Jared is the only exception cus he lives in the outskirts, and he never really left his territory. . But don't worry, it doesn't last for too long. The major bulk of this book exists outside the Academy

Is this novel nearing its end? And also is the romance good or forced and badly written?

Ending its fifth arc already. Two more arcs to go, so I don't think it'll take much longer before it ends. The author is thinking of making a Neron story after this though. As for the romance, it's good, in my opinion. I mean, I find it weird that an old sage would like a young adult, but the author gives an explanation, so I'll overlook it. Also, there's a lot of romantic tension at some point, especially with his past coming to play, and then coming back to haunt him. So far so good

One word for me... Neron. Neron carries this whole novel ngl. It's a shame he doesn't appear until the second arc, but Neron is the GOAT. Think of Gojo Satoru from JJK. Or Sinbad in Magi. That sort of feels. Other than that, the story is decent (cliche at first, but becomes something much better the more you advance). It has a way of pulling you in at some point. Still, the one motivation that's strong enough to keep you going is Neron's OPness, and his mystery.
