He was reincarnated into a fantasy universe of swords and magic, but at a time that civilization was already making advancements into outer space.

The setting takes place in an intergalactic empire, a space opera-like universe where humanoid weapons and spaceships do battle.

Liam, who had incarnated into an aristocratic family in a monarchic society, has the ambition to one day become an evil lord.

In his previous life, Liam had unfortunately lost everything and died in despair.

— It’s foolish to live for others.

— I will live for myself.

I don't know why but I'm so irritated with the series because they included fantasy. Just fucking admit this a Sci fi story with a power system that is similar to aura in other stories. Theres no fantasy except volume 7, which there was no sci fi at all. You really dug a hole huh author.

The spaceships sinks in space. Space has no gravity. That is only possible for dramatic effects and storytelling. A sci fi story wouldn't have that so it therefore a fantasy. Plus, There's no such thing as Guides or reincarnation in real life. ***

Yeah, fantasy has unexplainable phenomena, but it has an absence in the story, and that's what I'm trying to say in my first comment. Other power systems also have results of inexplicable phenomena, such as reincarnation, dimensional beings, etc. I'm just disappointed by how they utilize a magic system identical to an aura system. There's so much untapped potential in a magic system, but unfortunately, the author didn't tap into its potential in the story.

I get what you mean. I also felt it was a bit wasteful since there's not much about the magic system. But the thing is, the artifacts are all magic items rather than lost technology if you think about it. The author may have not got too into the magic system but there are traces of it here and there in the background. Plus, Kukuri and his shadow clan use magic so at least we know that the author at least tried to make sure he didn't forget about magic at all. Plus, it's pretty evident that Liam uses magic since it's a requirement for him to fully use his sword potential and body strengthening. TLDR: The author doesn't show it but she does implement it in the story here and there like bread crumbs.

In my opinion, it is not a bit wasteful but a lot of wasteful potential. What you mention is precisely 'like bread crumbs' in this story. The author doesn't connect magic and technology enough to make an 'ah this makes sense' moment. It's purely a futuristic mecha story with a power system purely about aura and how people utilize it, and that's about it. There are many ways to implement magic in this story, but the author dug a hole that can never be climbed. Examples of utilizing magic are enhancement magic on mechs, ships, etc. Teleportation magic for teleporting planet to planet. There are many more, but it would exceed the limit of characters. To be honest, I really think the author just strapped fantasy to the story to make it more interesting and accessible to the reader. This comment is not to argue your claim but to put more on a emphasis on how bad the author utilizes the fantasy genre and its power system.

Regarding your statement, I do agree up to a certain degree. The fantasy magic genre is basically the front page of japan's animation entertainment industry so it's not that surprising to see a fantasy genre in every single LN. Without the fantasy magic genre, there'd be even lesser chance of it being revealed to people when you're an author that not many people even know the name of. Besides, we shouldn't condemn the author too much. Afterall, thanks to the magic genre we get an interesting filler when Liam got transported to another world. We also got ourselves a silly disney villain, the Guide. So that's something we should at least be glad about. I'm not rejecting your opinion but simply making a point.

Ahhh, fuck. These type of stories always worries me for the same exact reason the other 100 stories like these does. It's that he doesn't even become a fucking Overlord or evil lord or whatever the fuck you wanna call it. In the end, he just becomes another goody two shoes that only kills the bad guys. A fucking pity, man...

Too much of that in Chinese novels wouldn't want Japanese novels to be another repetitive young master "you dare" "courting death" shit.

Did the author abandon this webnovel since the 1st light novel just released? I'm wondering if this is going to be an Overlord thing and we're waiting to catch up in the LN series now.

You know overlord has like… 14 volumes right? They could continue the anime series. I think the anime is only on… vol 7? Maybe 8? Or 9?
