I Became the Hero Who Banished the Protagonist

They fight twice but not out of antagonism or anything like that. Tho they are equal during the first fight the second fight is where the hero is stronger tho it comes with a price.

There are multiple heroine interested in him. And he seems to flirt with almost all of them even though it's not intentional.

First POV is for main character. Third POV is for secondary characters.

I am not a fan of the way the author of the novel's extra handled the plot, but d*mn do I approve of the "original" main character of the novel - he still has his own strengths and is equally op as the self-insert protagonist, while remaining relevant to the plot AND is the protagonist's genuine friend. I am not asking for much, they don't have to forgive and forget, but it would've been nice if they came to begrudgingly acknowledge each other (or at least the merc, since the hero has zero memory of the original hero) and be able to coordinate who goes where to handle things. I don't mind the messianic archetype protagonists, I just wish it didn't do the boring-*ss "author was bullied as a child, so he superimposes his childhood bullies on those who oppose his self-insert protagonist and punishes them" trope. I initially hoped that, since both the Hero and the Mercenary were clearly *ssh*l*s before their parting, the novel would have both undergo character development in the course of their journeys (much like how the mercenary clearly went through changes in the fictional novel), working in parallel on different facets of the crisis, occasionally hearing about the other's exploits. Kinda like how the three protagonists of the wheel of time all do their own thing and occasionally intersect or hear rumours about each other. But no, the main character is always right, even if he was objectively wrong and we know it, and the detractors will have their wrongness (which was not entirely wrong without transmigration handwavium) smeared in their face until (1/2)
